Amber Stanley and her two kids died after an alligator drove them into a tree
ORANGEBURG, South Carolina — A Florida mother and her two kids were killed when their car struck an alligator on a South Carolina expressway, causing the woman to lose control and slam into a tree.
Authorities said Amber Stanley, 24, her 4-year-old son Jack, and her 2-year-old daughter Autumn all died after the vehicle burst into flames along I-95 early Monday morning.
The family was from Callahan, Florida and were head to stay at a friend’s house at Myrtle Beach for a vacation.
Amber’s husband Josh was away in Pennsylvania for a work-related training when the crash happened.
“It comes in waves,” he told People magazine. “I’ll think it didn’t happen, then it hits me that I’m never gonna hug my kids or kiss my wife again. I’ve been on auto-mode. I haven’t really processed it.”
