Farruggia (L) insisted Frenette give her drugs before calling an ambulance
CONCORD, New Hampshire — A pregnant New Hampshire drug addict demanded a pal inject her with heroin and methamphetamine before calling 911 after she’d gone labor, police said.
Felicia Farruggia, 29, and her pal Rhianna Frenette, 37, have been charged with reckless conduct charges for the shocking episode last year. Farruggia gave birth to a baby boy shortly after taking the drugs, Concord cops say.
Police say Farruggia was in full-blown labor when she insisted that her friends inject her with drugs before calling for an ambulance, WFXT-TV reported.
Frenette obliged and allegedly used a dirty needle to give Farruggia the drugs, police said. An ambulance was then called.
Farruggia then gave birth to the child in the back of the ambulance as it was parked in front of her home. She and the boy were hospitalized and the child was later taken into state custody.
Farruggia has other children who were already in state custody when she went into labor, authorities said.
The two women were arraigned on Wednesday. Farruggia was held on $15,000 bail while Frenette was held on $25,000 bail.
