AUSTIN, Texas — An illicit hookup arranged via the prostitution marketplace, Backpage.com, turned deadly when a dispute over a sex act led a 17-year-old hustler to gun down a john, police said.
Cops in Austin, Texas say Julian Medrano had arranged to meet with 43-year-old Dunieski Castillo Leyva and two of his pals early Sunday morning after connecting with them on the website.
After the group gathered at an apartment Medrano was connected to, an argument erupted over sexual “services that were not received,” police said. When Leyva and his companions demanded their money back, the fight turned violent.
Leyva and the two others then fled the apartment and climbed into Leyva’s truck. Police say Medrano gave chase with a gun in hand and opened fire, striking Leyva through the windshield. He was killed instantly, but the vehicle — which was in gear — rolled across the parking lot, only coming to a stop after crashing into several parked cars.
Medrano has been charged with murder.
