JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Very bad Santa, indeed.
Florida police busted a truly naughty St. Nicholas after catching a man dressed in Santa suit dealing drugs.
Deputies with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigating complaints about drug activity on Monday came upon Isaac Geiger dressed in a red and white Santa suit, complete with hat and white beard, standing alongside a U-Haul truck in a parking lot.
Geiger, 41, was seen repeatedly going into the truck, retrieving something and then walking away. But when he eventually noticed cops watching him, he started to run.
As cops approached the vehicle, they say they spotted a large amount of marijuana in plain view on the driver seat and began to run after Geiger. At one point, the suspect tripped over his Santa pants and fell to the ground. As officers attempted to slap the cuffs on him, Geiger allegedly resisted arrest for some time.
When police finally took Geiger into custody, they found a plastic baggie in the pocket of the shorts Geiger was wearing under his Santa costume which contained a large wad of cash. He then broke free from cops again, and was tackled to the ground by detectives, police said.
When investigators searched the U-Haul, they found a five-gallon bucket filled with marijuana, ecstasy pills, cash and drug paraphernalia.
Geiger was charged with possession of marijuana and methamphetamine with intent to sell and resisting arrest and was held without bond.
“He is now turning the Santa suit in for a jail uniform,” the jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
