MURRIETA, California — Call it law and deliver the order.
A California cop went beyond the call of duty by transporting a pizza to a hungry customer after the delivery driver was arrested during a traffic stop.
The Murrieta Police Department says Officer Datil was working a traffic enforcement shift when he spotted a pizza delivery man driving recklesslyon his way to deliver a pie. After pulling the driver over, the officer discovered the motorist had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest.
After slapping the cuffs on the driver, Officer McCarthy stepped in to fill the delivery driver’s shoes and get the pizza to its destination.
“The smile on the hungry citizens face was all the “tip” needed to know we are doing our job,” the department said.
