FRIENDSWOOD, Texas — She was acting the fool.
A stinking drunk Texas mom was busted after causing a scene at a junior high school play and attacking the cop who tried to escort her out, police said.
Christy Ann Churchwell, 35, was watching a play last week at Friendswood Junior High School when others in the auditorium complained that she appeared to be drunk and was causing a loud disruption.
Police were called and when an officer asked Churchwell to speak with him outside, she needed help walking to the back of the auditorium, cops said. The officer also noted he smelled alcohol on her breath, KHOU-TV reported.
Once she was escorted out of the auditorium, cops say she balled up her fists and lunged at the officer. She was then placed under arrest for public intoxication. A search of her bag revealed eight 75 ML bottles of vodka, seven of which were empty.
Cops say when Churchwell was brought to the police cruiser, she pulled away and cursed at the officers and then kicked one, bringing an additional charge of assaulting an officer.
When she was taken to the station house, cops say she set off the sprinkler system in her cell, flooding it. She was then hit with an another charge of criminal mischief.
