CATSKILL, New York — He was in a hurry to get to jail.
A motorcyclist who led New York State Police on a high-speed chase — clocking in as high as 165 miles per hour — was busted after he pulled off to get gas.
Cops say 20-year-old Kevin O’Donnell, of Wayne, NJ, sped away from officers who tried to pull him over for speeding on Nov. 5 on the New York State Thruway.
As the troopers gave chase, they say O’Donnell continued to flee on his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle, exceeding speeds of 165 miles per hour.
He was only stopped when he started running out of gas and was forced to exit the highway at Catskill, NY to refuel.
O’Donnell was charged with reckless endangerment, unlawfully fleeing the police and a host of other traffic and vehicle violations and was held on $5,000 bail.
