SANTA ANA, California — A hip-hop producer who recently accused Chicago rapper Chief Keef of robbing him at gunpoint, has been arrested on charges of pimping out two woman.
California prosecutors say 24-year-old Brandon Christopher Ramsay, whose goes by the stage name Ramsay Tha Great, was hit with two felony counts of pimping after being arrested on Tuesday at a motel in Anaheim.
Orange County police were drawn to the motel after spotting advertisements soliciting sex with the two women, aged 18- and 20-years-old.
After an undercover cop arranged a liaison and met the two women at the motel, prosecutors say Ramsay called one of the victim’s cell phones numerous times asking where she was. He was then spotted driving into the motel parking lot and was arrested, officials said.
“The defendant is accused of possessing evidence of pimping and sending text messages to the victims containing language consistent with pimping prior to his arrest,” the Orange County District Attorney’s office said in a statement.
Authorities say Ramsay is accused of having pimped out the women for some time in areas of Orange County known for prostitution and keeping the cash for himself.
Ramsay was held on $70,000 bond and could face up to seven years in prison if convicted.
Ramsay made headlines last month after accusing rapper Chief Keef, with whom he had worked in the past as a producer, and another man, of a home invasion robbery.
Chief Keef, whose real name is Keith Cozart, and Darron Rose, were arrested in late January by Los Angeles police on suspicion that they committed the robbery.
In a video Ramsay posted on Instagram from a hospital bed, he said he was woken up by someone at his door and that Cozart and another man, armed with an AK-47, pushed their way into his room and struck him in the face.
“He stole my $1,600, he stole my rings and he stole my a Rolex watch,” he said.
In photos he posted on social media, Ramsay wore a neck brace and sported bruises, swelling and a cut near his eyebrow.
