MIDDLEBURG, Florida — If you bring wrench to a sword fight, you might need to upgrade.
That’s exactly what a Florida woman did when she got into a fight over drugs with her husband, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.
As the Nov. 5 fight escalated, 25-year-old Brandi Oberdeck allegedly threw a heavy wrench at her husband, Peter, hitting him in the thigh, cops said. He then grabbed a sword and began chopping up things around the house with it.
But when he dropped it, his wife grabbed it and struck Peter in the stomach, arm and side with it, the sheriff’s office said. He was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, WJAX-TV reported.
Brandi was charged with aggravated battery and placed on suicide watch. Cops say they found two swords lying around the house.
Police say the couple has been married for four years and appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the fight broke out.
