DENVER — A man sporting clown makeup and wearing a Freddy Krueger-style glove with blades attached to the fingers has been charged with brutally slashing a man to death in Denver.
Christian Lee Gulzow, 36 — whose prison nickname is Diablo — allegedly attacked the man following an argument outside a Denver taco restaurant, cops said.
Witnesses told cops that Gulzow, who was wearing white clown makeup with black streaks, began threatening the victim with a glove that had 2- to 3-inch-long blades coming out of the fingertips, the Denver Post reported.
Gulzow then began pummeling the victim, Brian Lucero, 29, who tried to get away. Lucero then punched Guzlow, who then followed him to the restaurant, Torchy’s.
“The victim collapsed in the north east parking lot of the Torchy’s business,” the police report stated. Gulzow then fled on a scooter.
When cops caught up with Guzlow, they say his clothes were covered with blood and they saw him throw a knife into the bushes.
Gulzow later told cops he had been threatened him and that Lucero had screamed at him “to get out of my alley,” and then attacked him and stole his scooter.
Gulzow said he tackled Lucero as he tried to drive off with his scooter, and that one of his spiked wrist bracelets may have left Lucero injured. He then acknowledged that he may have cut Lucero with his “clawed glove.”
Gulzow has a long rap sheet with convictions for domestic violence, assault and weapons convictions. In 2012, he was convicted of felony menacing with a deadly weapon, according to authorities in Colorado.
