HOUSTON — Here’s a guy without much of a sense of humor.
A Texas man has been charged with killing his girlfriend’s husband after the man played a practical joke on him, police said.
Thomas Rolle, 29, had been infuriated after his girlfriend’s estranged husband, Jason Maas, played a trick on nim by moving his car and swiping his ID card, cops said.
Investigators say Rolle threatened Maas by phone until he agreed to hand back the card. The two men agreed to meet at a parking lot on Sunday near the motel where Maas lived.
Maas, 37, was found lying in pool of blood with multiple stab wounds shortly after the scheduled meeting, and was declared dead. Several witnesses told cops they spoke to Rolle after the stabbing where he said that “he had stabbed a guy because the guy played a trick on him,” and that they would learn more about it when they watched the evening news.
Rolle was arrested and booked Monday at Harris County Jail, where he is being held without bail.
