PHOENIX, Arizona — That’s shocking.
A Phoenix mom was arrested for allegedly shocking her teenage son with a Taser to get him out of bed on Easter Sunday morning, cops said.
Sharron Dobbins, 40, is accused of tapping her 17-year-old son’s leg with the Taser in the family’s apartment on Sunday, the Arizona Republic reported.
An 18-year-old family member witnessed the episode and gave police a statement
But Dobbins told cops that she only “sparked the Taser”to make her son get up, and that she would never shock anyone.
“He said some cuss words at me, and he said that his friends don’t have to go anywhere,” she told KSAZ-TV.
She then went to get the stun gun, which she said she sparked at the entrance to the room, at least five feet from her son. He then told her he was calling police, she said.
Cops say the boy refused to press charges, but he had two bumps on his leg consistent with a Taser burn.
Dobbins was charged with one count of child abuse.
