NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — A man with a long history of performing “deviant sex acts,” with vegetables, has been sentenced to life in prison for his latest escapade.
Authorities say it took a jury just 30 minutes to convict 56-year-old Charles Robert Ransier on a charge of tampering with evidence and possession of crystal meth in a bizarre 2015 dust- up with cops.
In the incident, police say they encountered Ransier in March 2015 while investigating a call about children’s slide being moved from a playground in Texas’ Comal County.
An officer found Ransier near his truck and while chatting with him, noticed a girl’s swimsuit “laid out perfectly” on the driver’s side floorboard, as well as melted candle wax and a tube of lubricant on the dashboard, the Austin American-Statesman reported.
The officer said Ransier was only wearing a pair of jeans and had melted candle wax on his chest. He also had a syringe in his hand that he repeatedly tried to break while speaking the officer. It later tested positive for crystal meth.
A search of Ransier’s vehicle also turned up multiple items of children’s clothing, Barbie dolls, candy, balloons, baby oil, Viagra, Extenze male enhancement pills, duct tape, rope and a cooler with frozen cucumbers, authorities said.
Ransier had previously been arrested in 2012 after being found naked and committing a “deviant sex act involving a squash,” police said. In 2014, police found Ransier wearing a pair of women’s stockings, and “engaging in a deviant sex act with a vegetable, police said.
In 1995, Ransier was convicted of manslaughter in the death of an Arizona state trooper and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
In all, Ransier has nine prior felony convictions.
