ALBANY, New York — Seven sorority members at the University of Albany were arrested in a stomach-turning hazing incident in which they covered recruits in rotten eggs, milk and urine, police said.
Cops were called to an off-campus home around 1 a.m. after neighbors complained of excessive noise. When they arrived they found the women engaged in the rancid ritual.
According to the Albany Times-Union, the recruits were forced to eat mud while the sorority members poured a vile mixture of rotten eggs, milk and urine over their heads.
One victim was hospitalized after experiencing what appeared to be an allergic reaction in which she had trouble breathing and broke out into hives. She was later released.
The seven women arrested were identified as 19-year-old Katrina Bergvoy, 19-year-old Heaven Guanco, 19-year-old Monica Vitagliano, 20-year-old of Tereyza Martin, 21-year-old Chinzao Ezekwem and 21-year-old Jessica Raynor.
A University of Albany spokesman told WRGB-TV that the sorority was not sanctioned by the school.
