YAKIMA, Washington — The smell of vengeance is sweet.
A grudge-holding Washington man has been busted for allegedly torching his parents house in an act of revenge for a 10-year-old prank in which his brother farted in his face, cops say.
Joel Cruz, 29, told the Yakima police that he was in the house alone when he remembered the decade-old prank and grew angry, so he decided to burn the place to the ground.
Police say Cruz filled a pot with vegetable oil, turned the burner on high and then left. The oil eventually caught fire and spread, badly damaging his parents’ home, KIMA-TV reported.
He later told cops he had been hearing voices in his head, so authorities took him to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
