PASADENA, Maryland — A Maryland woman repeatedly stabbed her grandmother in order to “cut the demons out of her,” police said.
Anne Arundel County police say they got a call Sunday morning about family violence at a home in Pasadena. The caller, a family member who was not at the home at the time, said that an elderly woman living at the house had been stabbed multiple times.
When cops arrived, they found the 82-year-old woman and brought her to a trauma center in Baltimore. She was later released.
The granddaughter, identified as 20-year-old Savannah Esperson Weaver, told officers that she attacked her grandmother in order to “cut the demons out of her.” Weaver was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
She will be charged with attempted murder and other assault charges when she is released from the hospital, police said.
